The ninth conference of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America — with the theme “Beethoven 250+1,” in conjunction with the ninth Mae and Irving Jurow International Harpsichord Competition semifinals and finals (live-streamed from Saint Paul, Minnesota), will be held online on August 4-7, 2021. Highlights include Kenneth Drake, keynote speaker; Malcolm Bilson and Richard Fuller, special guest presenters; a live-streamed tour of the Sigal Music Museum (Greenville, South Carolina) by Thomas Strange; nearly 20 papers, lecture-recitals, and mini-recitals; as well as concerts by Jaap ter Linden (viola da gamba) and Jacques Ogg (harpsichord), Elisabeth Wright (harpsichord), Peter Sykes (harpsichord), Asako Hirabayashi (harpsichord), Gail Olszewski (fortepiano) and Natsuki Kumagai (violin), and concerto finals of the Jurow Competition with members of the Lyra Baroque Orchestra.
